The eye contour, an area where the skin is thin and fragile
Our advises to take care of your eye contour and take necessary actions.

Dark circles are "shadows" in the lower orbicularis region. If they first appear in the corner of the eye, this is just the beginning of the movement is at the inner corner of the eye. These can arise because of the morphology of the face (thin bony face) or have a racial or innate cause (brown skins with natural melanin pigment concentration).

Tiredness, stress, illness

Finally, tiredness, stress and illness may lead to changes in tone of the lymphatic channels, which contract reflexively according to sensitivity. The drainage is poor, blood stagnates in the dilated vessels and skin reveals their bluish shadows. In extreme cases, blood pigments can win the interstitial tissue and skin colour more sustainably. In all cases, you must tone the vascular wall, drain and revitalize the eyelids

Bags and swelling under the eyes

les poches et gonflements sous. les yeux

Similar to dark circles, puffiness often occurs in a state of advanced fatigue. They are the result of sagging skin, insufficient lymphatic drainage and the insidious accumulation of water and lipids in the subcutaneous tissues. Before fat cells settle permanently in distended lower eyelids, we need to drain and disinfiltrate, as well as moisturize and firm.

Swollen eyelids are due to deficient lymphatic microcirculation around the eye. The micro-pump system of the lymphatic channels is much more functional during the day, thanks to the thousands of eyelid beats. It slows down at night due to the immobility of the eyelids. What's more, it's overwhelmed by the accumulation of waste products (water + salt + poorly eliminated alcohol). This causes the tissues to distend, leading to the notorious morning swelling on waking. To avoid this, adopt a healthy lifestyle and get enough sleep. They appear very quickly in an area where the skin is thin, often dry and solicited by innumerable movements, given that it is practically devoid of sebaceous glands.

Dark shadows / circles under the eyes

Les cernes sous les yeux

There are different types of dark circles. It's important to differentiate between them in order to combat them more effectively.

1. Dark blue/vascular circles.
These are caused by a malfunction in blood and lymph circulation. As a result, a cluster of blood pigments forms under the thinnest layers of skin.
Aging skin weakens the microcirculation of the lower eyelid. Blood capillaries, which are made up of collagen, become slack, causing a reduction in blood flow, which in turn leads to the appearance of pigments on the eyelids.

2. Dark circles - brown to brown / pigmented.
There are many causes: genetic predisposition, computer screens, UV rays...
The epidermis and dermis of the lower eyelid are very thin (0.5 mm thick). As a result, the skin is translucent, leaving excess pigment, particularly melanin, visible to the naked eye.

3. Hollow circles.
These are the result of the disappearance of fat between the skin and the bone around the eye. It's the orbital bone, visible through the skin, that gives the colored appearance to the lower eyelid.
